Bio-mass boiler –<\/em> <\/strong>We are dedicated to minimising the environmental impacts of our manufacturing activities and seek to explore new ideas through eco innovation, including over \u00a31 million investment in an eco-boiler to convert all waste timber into heat for our factories.<\/p>\n Sustainably source raw materials –<\/strong><\/em> All timber used in our manufacturing is sourced locally from from sustainable sources.<\/p>\n FSC\u00ae Timber –<\/em> <\/strong>Wood is a significant material used across many Be Modern products. As demand for forestry products continues to grow, Be Modern plays its part in conservation by selecting over 75% of its raw timber from well-managed FSC\u00ae (Forest Stewardship Council\u00ae) recognised forests and holds full Forest Stewardship Council chain of custody certification.<\/p>\n Recyclable packaging –<\/strong><\/em> We ensure we used minimal plastic in our packaging. We ensure our packaging is made from recyclable cardboard and we have an inhouse cardboard machine, so all boxes are produced to the required size to eliminate excess and unnecessary packaging.<\/p>\n Environmental Management –<\/em>\u00a0 <\/strong>Having been accredited with ISO 14001, the internationally recognised environmental management standard, Be Modern is committed to continually improving the effectiveness of our environmental management system.<\/p>\n 98.85% of waste generated by Be Modern is recycled<\/p>\n 1.08% of our waste is used for waste derived fuel<\/p>\n 0.07% of our waste goes to landfill<\/p>\n Be Modern has an employee assistance programme, which is available to all employees and immediate family members. This service is completely free and anonymous and implemented by a third party organisation with expert assistance and resources.
